Accessible iOS app development

A mobile golf scorecard app

A senior-friendly scorekeeping app designed around large controls, clear workflows, group play, and reliable on-course use.

The challenge

Start with the operating problem.

Many golf apps put GPS, subscriptions, social features, and advanced analytics ahead of the basic job: entering scores quickly. That creates clutter and frustration for golfers who value readability, forgiving controls, and reliability.

The approach

Design around how the work happens.

The app was designed mobile-first and accessibility-first. Native SwiftUI screens organize new rounds, group scoring, history, summaries, preferences, and optional premium capabilities while keeping the primary scoring task prominent.

What was built

Useful capabilities, not a technology demonstration.

  • Fast round setup and scoring for one to four players
  • Large controls, scalable text, and high-contrast presentation
  • Hole-by-hole scorecard, recap, history, and round summaries
  • Voice score entry and scorecard scanning services
  • Saved players, saved courses, and course search
  • Local data controls, premium entitlement handling, and automated tests

Business value

Why the work matters.

01

Centers the experience on golfers who are often underserved

02

Reduces taps and visual clutter during active play

03

Keeps core scoring useful without depending on constant connectivity

04

Shows how accessibility can shape the product from the beginning
