Native iOS game development

An independent word game

A polished native five-letter word game with persistent play, accessible visual choices, statistics, and rewarding feedback.

The challenge

Start with the operating problem.

The goal was to turn a familiar word-puzzle concept into a complete iPhone experience—not merely a working game board. The app needed dependable game logic, smooth feedback, repeat play, and settings that respect different visual preferences.

The approach

Design around how the work happens.

The game was built natively with SwiftUI. Core rules, duplicate-letter evaluation, hard mode, animations, sound, saved progress, statistics, sharing, and appearance settings were treated as one cohesive product experience.

What was built

Useful capabilities, not a technology demonstration.

  • Six-attempt, five-letter puzzle engine with validated guesses
  • Correct handling of repeated letters and hard-mode constraints
  • Saved in-progress games and non-repeating answer selection
  • Win rate, streaks, guess distribution, and milestone celebrations
  • Dark and light themes with multiple tile color palettes
  • Native sharing, sound feedback, animations, and confetti

Business value

Why the work matters.
